| This was the perfect birthday for my favorite year I was sad at first, about turning twenty and leaving my teenage years. I made Jiang and Jenn drive back from ucla and nhi ditch her family's chinese new years celebration to come to the mountains with me. I told them to not mention my birthday, because i wanted to be nineteen until i wake up the next morning. Jiang drove us to GMR and we practically almost hit one of the sides of the road cuz the dumbass wouldnt slow down on the curves -.- We went all the way up to the fork where jamaica recommended but we left cuz the view wasn't nearly as pretty as the slower turnouts, and people were smoking pot up there.. so we parked at a lower turn out and (haha nhi had to pee) we just chilled and talked and laughed. i reminded them once again to not mention my birthday when it hit midnight, and then i looked out the window to stare at the city lights. then almost right after i heard jenn and nhi singing happy birthday to me -.- and i turned around ready to yell at them and found them holding a cake with candles waiting for me to blow them out and i was immediately happy and grateful that i had such amazingly great best friends. the day after i had to go to my physics bootcamp class >.< vian was suppose to put something on my desk that was from jenn but passed along by paul. but for some reason (this happened only once in the whole semester) i got there earlier than vian, so the surprise was behind her back as she walked in. it was just a paperbag package telling me not to open until sunday (i knew it'd have to do with my camera anyways). i was actually hoping for flowers on my table when i walked in that morning, i imagined the moment for dayssss before my birthday. i didn't really care who it was from, i just wanted flowers. but the flowers did come later on! so later on in the afternoon mike asked me to have lunch with him.. and i agreed. and then he later called me again and said he'll call me in 30 mins to have lunch.. but he called back in like 2 hours, and i was at tutoring waiting on him and starving myself to death -.- when he finally called me i missed his calls and texts so he had to come look for me in my class xD. Mike made me drive, and we went to the Montebello Mall (duh, of course i'd know where BJ's is). When we walked in this lady was like "oh you scared me" looking at him and i was like o.o wtf you know her? and he ignored me and made me walk back out (it was really cold outside o.o) and i was like thinking "i so know something's going on lols". but when we walked back in to BJ's and i saw the vase of yellow roses and balloon on the table i was still taken by surprise and amazed by this greatguy<3 who i was just starting out with. I can't believe he went through all that to surprise me, I wasn't sure what to expect of him for my birthday but i guess i underestimated him. JenLe and steven showed up and ate with us, and jen le gave me a red envelope with a handmade paper-card that she folded inside. at the end of the meal was a surprise cake (JenLe killed the surprise before it came out) because i told him i wanted a cake on my birthday no matter what :]            
after i dropped mike back at school i went to pick up my aunt, uncle, and cousins and took them to my house. before i went home i had to pick up MY OWN CAKE cuz my mom forgot to buy me a cake! My parents made all the favorite foods that i requested for my birthday, so i had to stuff myself even thought i was bloated from BJ's already. i really appreciated my parent's efforts ^.^
when my mom was driving the relatives home, my dad and i drank a little wine together xD felt so cool.
oh! and i also had to cut up the flowers that i received from Kaity and Paul<3 and i putted them in a Mcdonald's iced coffee cup as a vase. xD                     
that night after i left my family, I went to banana bay to drink with mike and his friends, and jenle and danny came along. we all had a blast, especially when we had couples-arguments between me mike jen and danny. at the end of the night mike was pretty drunk, i picked my car up at adam's house, and mike walked me to my car. he mentioned a card while we were going back to adam's house, but i wasn't sure what they were talking about. but mike gave me my birthday card when he walked me to my car, and like 1 minute after he gave it to me he forgot that he did -.- and the day after he forgot that he did too -.-  
i went home that night and read the birthday card. i was really taken by surprise by the card that he picked out. it was so perfect for me, and it made me feel so special that he pays enough attention to me to know just which card to pick out :] but when i mentioned it to him on the phone he didnt seem like he knew what a great card he picked out, so i guess he just got the perfect card by accident -.-
in the card was the perfect sweet message that wasn't overkillingly scary or retardedly unthoughtful. i'd say he's just really smart on knowing how to make me happy and keeping me, but it prolly has to do with the fact that he's good in literature and wants to be a lawyer -.- the day after.. i went snowboarding after finals. there wasn't anything special about that at first, i mean sure mike was going with me and i was definitely happy about that, but i thought he was just going for the heck of trying it out and for fun. but i later on found out that he went for me even though he REALLY didn't want to go snowboarding, and that changed everything for the night<3 in the end he ended up improving alot and really enjoying snowboarding :] i didn't get any air cuz i didn't wanna leave him alone practicing >.< but it was actually exciting to be there watching him when he finally got up and started going down without falling!
after snowboarding we went to eat at noodle world, and stoopid me caught food coma right after i ate. I totally passed out at the restaurant -.- after i dropped mike off he was too worried about me and he wanted to drive me home.. but i felt like it was too much of a hassle. in the end i let him drive me cuz i was pretty tired.. but that meant he had to pick me up the next day to take me to a CKI board meeting early in the morning, and he was totally cool with it! *ding ding one point* saturday morning Mike picked me up for the CKI meeting and picked me up afterwards. we went to banh mi che cali to eat afterwards, and then we headed to mahattan beach. This was Mike's favorite beach. he said that since i won't take him to my favorite beach, he'll take me to his's :]

At the end of our walk i saw that the sun was starting to set, and i realized that if we stayed there any longer (which it did seem like we were going to) i was going to end up watching my first sunset with mike at NOT redondo beach! but then i decided to just go with it because he made the effort to give me a perfect birthday, and he did so much to get me out there that day. but at the same time our parking limit was going to end unless we put in more coins! being the cheap person that i am, i didn't want him to get a ticket.. so i made him run to put in more coins. by the time he came back the sun was set behind the clouds, but amazingly there was a hole in the cloud that allowed us to see a bright red ball glowing out of the clouds! it was sooo pretty, just sitting there on the sand staring into the sea, looking at the different rays in the sky and listening to my waves crashing into each other.
we later went to mike's cousin's place, which has an amazingly view of the city from the seventeenth floor. We had dinner at a restaurant a block away from his apartment. We were suppose to see the city lights from the roof top when we got back to the apartment, but we all ended up falling asleep after watching The Eagles and Usher concerts, and some random movie scenes. I woke up at 1 ish AM and made Mike go home cuz I had to go hiking the next day. I drove his car (he drank with his cousin) back to his place in Rowland Heights, and picked up my car from there.         the hiking trip the next day was really cool. i made jenn and nhi explore this new trail with me and i tried once with jiang and his friends, except instead of going as high as jiang and his friends' did, me jenn and nhi stopped early to climb pass these rocks to sit on top of a waterfall, kinda. we met these really nice strangers who willingly helped us fix the rocks in the stream so we can cross safely, and held my hand as i cross so i can have support ^.^ and after i crossed i helped nhi and jenn. after we hiked, i went home to shower and then drop by jiang's place, my uncle and aunt 3's place, and paul's place for chinese new years visit. i then went to my birthday dinner at Sanya (paul drove!), where i received my new camera! :D Dinner was great, except i had to totally cover up myself to avoid smelling like korean barbecue afterwards. Kevin suggested bowling afterwards, and Nhi, Jamaica, and Jenle came to support me for my birthday (even though they didn't play -.-) i had fun losing bowling to kevin and his wayyy more experienced friends. Jenle traded shoes with me back and forth so that both of us can play the same game. after i went home i had to wait for mike to come give me my school stuff for the next day. this was the end of my birthday weekend, and it ended with a hug from that great guy that i liked :] |
